My travel motto? The more you save, the more you can travel. But where to start, when looking for options for budget travel? Whether you’re headed to Paris or somewhere closer to home (I am always looking to visit my brother in Seattle), the more you save, the more you can travel. (Sense an echo here? Ask my family. They hear it all the time!)
Note: Revolutionary Ride is Lois Pryce's third book, about her travels in Iran.
You’re (going) home after an amazing experience abroad. You probably feeling sad, conflicted, and maybe even a little lost.
I’ll let you in on a little secret…there are ways to make re-entry a happier experience.

Music makes a good companion in times of change. Songs and tunes and symphonies, lullabyes and string quartets, music of the griot and the sean nos singer, the classical violinist and the street corner busker all have ways of connecting us to one another, of giving space for reflection, of lifting spirits, offering hope, adding perspective and building courage.

3 different climates, 10 nature parks, 8 national parks, countless beaches, excellent food & wine, and 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites - where are you? Croatia!

At first blush, Crljenak Kastelanski, Grasevina, Plavac Mali, Pošip - some of Croatia’s grape varietals - sounded Greek to me. Since OPA is the only Greek word I know, pronouncing these grape names sent my mind into a tailspin.
In fact, I was so overwhelmed by the names of Croatian wines, winemakers, and labels that I couldn’t imagine writing about them without mastering the spelling first. Then I scanned several sources and talked to a Croatia wine expert. That said, I cheered up and decided to give these wines a swirl.
Last summer, my mom came over to Stockholm to see me for three weeks, and we decided we wanted to go somewhere hot and sunny for one week of fun in the sun. My mom has always wanted to go to Croatia and I had only been to the north so we decided on going to southern Croatia.
