As February is Black History Month in the United States, we at ProjectExplorer.org encourage everyone to learn more about his or her own history. Only then can we truly appreciate how the journey of black citizens worldwide have shaped each of us individually, no matter what our race may be.

When the ProjectExplorer.org team was in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007, we met with Dr. John Kani, one of the Founders of the Apartheid Museum. Among other things, we talked about the differences between the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. and Apartheid-era South Africa. This month, we encourage you to educate yourselves and to consider where we might be without our global brothers and sisters who were brave enough to stand up to make a difference.
