A Delightful Day Awaits Mothers at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House

Historic Home Celebrates Mom With Brunch, Tour and Special Gift

 

GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich., (April 20, 2010) – Pamper mom with a day of delicious fare and breathtaking views with a special Mother’s Day brunch and tour Sunday, May 9 at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House.

 

Ford House offers families the perfect setting to honor the woman who makes it all happen, with brunch seatings at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Ford House Activities Center. Moms will also receive a special gift courtesy of Ford House. After brunch, guests will be treated to a scenic tour of the historic home and grounds, with the spring gardens in full bloom.

 

The day’s menu includes asparagus, wild mushroom and caramelized onion egg strata; Banana’s Fosters French toast with amaretto whipped cream; herb roasted breast of turkey with cranberry orange relish; apple cider marinated pork loin with grilled pear chutney; potato gratinee; spring vegetable medley; creamy vanilla yogurt parfaits with fresh blueberries and granola; fresh baked breakfast pastries and popovers with fruit butter; a fruit and cheese display and mixed greens salad with feta cheese, dried cherries, and raspberry vinaigrette.  Dessert will be a raspberry passion fruit torte (if there’s any room left).

 

Cost is $33 for adults and $18 for children for brunch and tour; $25 for adults and $14 for children brunch only.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling 313.884.4222.

 

Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, located at 1100 Lake Shore Rd. in Grosse Pointe Shores, has been opening their doors to the public since 1978.  Since that time, Ford House has shared Eleanor Ford’s vision of preserving and maintaining the house and grounds for future generations to enjoy through interpretive tours, family activities, lectures, exhibits, and gardens and grounds events.  For more information about Ford House, go to www.fordhouse.org or call 313.884.4222.
