Lillie- what a wonderful time you had.  I can see how much you enjoyed the festival atmosphere and all the different things.  A very good article on something we don't have much contact with.  Well done and thank you for sharing it.  Love Grampa

What Fun!

Lillie,

Terrific blog and fantastic pics. I want to go immediately - you made it sound and feel like such a great time. You most certainly are a princess and how lovely they recognized that! I look forward to your next adventure!

What great photos - and your comments really brought them to life! I wish I'd been able to see the red and blue jousting guys.

Michigan RenFest

It's been a few years since I've been up to the Renaissance Festival, but it's fun to see not much has changed!

I always like to have one of those big turkey legs for lunch and catch the "Dead Bob" show (such cheesy jokes, but lots of fun).

As you can see from your photos, they always have such cool arts & crafts there...shopping 'til you drop is a definite option. I've got a kaledoscope I couldn't resist one year.

We recently went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Have you ever been to a Renaissance Festival? If you haven't, it is so much fun. If you haven't, it will be super duper duper fun. Here are some photos that my mom took. I will tell you about each one.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Here is a kids ride, I thought the dragon was cool. It looks spinny (that's a joke).

Bear Knight

Copper Dragon Fire

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Smith's glasses (he makes handcuffs)

Horse for jousting

Michigan Renaissance Festival

I like the unicorn and dragon canes. The Viking, too!

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Watching the glassmaking was fun.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

This glass is cool. The handle is called Dragon Scales.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

My mom liked this picture.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Majestic lion in the house.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

The food is good, and the sellers are fun.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Jousting was my 2nd favorite thing to see there.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

This was the opponent of our Blue Jousting Guy.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

The Blue Jousting Guy was hilarious. He told us to Yell when he did something Awesome, and BOO when the red guy did something.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

The flags are awesome.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Lots of boots for sale!

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Magic flags

Michigan Renaissance Festival

The dragons are fun. People are supposed to throw darts at this poor dragon, and I didn't do that because I felt bad for him. It wasn't a real dragon!

Michigan Renaissance Festival

Beautiful jewelry. If you have a messy room, they can get lost.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

She painted my face, I am lucky. She painted a dolphin splashing.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

This was my favorite part. You are supposed to rock and if you pull harder, then you go higher. Dad had a strong grip on it. I was laughing.

This is a great place to go for kids!! I had so much fun. It was so cool! I liked the colors, and the kids activities. A fairy told me I was a real princess (I already knew that). I was sad when we had to go home.
