Postcard from Tequendama Falls, Colombia

Located in San Antonio de Tequendama, Colombia lies in Tequendama Falls, the largest and most notorious waterfall in the entire county. When taking this photo, I was mesmerized at its monstrous stature, 515 feet high with water surging through a rocky gorge that narrows to about 60 feet at the brink of the devastating fall.

Ironically, I could not stay for long to take the picture because this great attraction comes with a great cost - pollution had completely overwhelmed the great attraction with a disgusting smell that burns the inside of any person's nose. Honestly, I would have to say that withstanding the horrible smell was worth it because there is no other place like it; words seem very difficult to describe the situation as it was just a perfect scene that will sojourn in my mind for many years to come.

This great experience can be achieved through the International YMCA’s Global Teens program to Colombia, to learn more about this program visit ymcanyc.org/ymca-of-greater-new-york/teens/global-teens/.
