There is an amazing event that happens here in West Virginia every year; the blooming of our state flower, the Great Rhododendron. All across the Mountain State these beautiful plants burst forth with color and one place in particular is a prime location to take in not only the sights of these blooms but the smells as well. I'm referring to Grandview Park.

So, about a year ago, my family and I stayed a few nights in a cave house in Andalusia. We had heard about Castril, a little village buried in the mountains, there was supposed to be a market. Feeling touristy, we decided to go check it out.

Most of us have likely heard of Mont Blanc, not the famous writing pens, but the tallest mountain in the Alps…and we’ve probably seen it, too. Of course, not everyone is lucky enough to see it in person, but you can on Google Images!

If you do plan to visit Mont Blanc, keep in mind one thing: driving up that (or a neighboring) mountain. It wasn’t easy reaching the park at the peak of the mountain; consider this a warning to all of the people who get car-sick or don’t like 15 minute rides of endless elevation.
