Top Scottish songwriter Jim Malcolm returns to Alexandria

Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, 8 pm
The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA
Tickets $20 advance/$24 at the door

As both a singer and a songwriter, Jim Malcolm is one of the most distinctive voices in Scottish music. He was the lead singer of the Scottish band the Old Blind Dogs for many years. Now, Jim performs solo shows throughout the year all around the world. In 2004, he won awards from the Scots Trad Music Society for Songwriter of the Year and, as lead singer with the Dogs, for Scottish Folk Band of the Year.

Jim returns to the Sunspot series this year with a special show celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. We're told that the bard himself will appear with Jim during the second half of the show...
