It’s cold. Painfully cold. So cold, I begin to question the logic behind my thrill seeking madness. It’s these sort of crazy people that end up on the news, right? The headlines screaming American Found Frozen Between Tectonic Plates, Iceland. The water is only up to my ankles, and already, a string of eclectic language has escaped my lips. It’s now or never, though. The frozen body of a Hawaii teen was located in the chilly waters of Iceland… I double-check that my mask is on tight, dry suit valves are locked and closed.
Recently I’ve been staying in Jakarta with friends, and we’ve been mostly eating out in fancy western restaurants, but today we ate street food. The fact that surprised me most was that satays are really Indonesian, and have just been popularized though Thai restaurants. After trying some incredible chicken satays dripping with peanut sauce, I decided to try an interesting fusion with Chicken Satay Pizza. It's amazing.
Madagascar is an island off the coast of Africa best known for its pristine forest and extreme biodiversity. In fact, a large portion of the animals on the island are endemic - meaning that they can’t be found anywhere else. Because of this, Madagascar has become a research and conservation hotspot.
