A Kid's Perspective on Howl-o-Ween at Great Wolf Lodge

By Lillie Forteau, 17 October, 2009

This week we were lucky enough to visit Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City (click here for rates and availability at Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City).

The lobby was decorated for Halloween - the mantel was all decorated, and the big clock in the middle (that is animated) - all the animals had costumes on! It was so fun.  The main halls for Magiquest (I will share more about this with you later - it gets its own article because it was so awesome) were spookily decorated, too. It was fun!

Every night at 5pm, there was trick-or-treating. I dressed up in my Mary Poppins costume and met at the Cub Club. We got trick-or-treat bags (but I had brought my own, a carpetbag to go with my costume). Then you go to several different stations to trick-or-treat. You have to say trick-or-treat, no being shy. I got lots of great things - nerds candy, a cool card game, pretzels, fruit gummies, and more. Many of the other kids were wearing costumes but not everyone.  The people handing out candy were dressed as wizards.

The big clock in the middle of the lobby is so awesome. All of the animals were dressed up for Halloween, and every night the clock sings a song and then someone from Great Wolf Lodge reads a spooky story!

We also played in the waterpark a lot! I liked the slides and the big fort in the middle. Every 5 minutes, the huge waterbucket DUMPS on you! It is crazy. My favorite part was the body slide - fun! The lilypads were fun, too. You walk on them and try not to fall off. Don't worry, there's a rope that you can hold onto. There is also a large snake that you can climb on. There's a basketball area, too. There are places for small kids. It is so much fun, you never want to leave!

I lovedvisiting Great Wolf Lodge, especially for Halloween. They make Halloween special, with decorations and fun things to do. Any kid would have a blast here!.
