This week we have a critical pair of books to share with you! Immigration Made Simple: An Easy to Read Guide to the US Immigration Process, and Citizenship Made Simple: An Easy to Read Guide to the US Citizenship Process, by Barbara Brooks Kimmel and Alan M. Lubiner  are incredibly useful guides to US immigration and citizenship.  Each book is packed with essential information for the immigration and citizenship processes for the United States. They are both comprehensive and easy to understand. Each comes with directions, sample forms, directories, addresses, and more. 

We were lucky enough to sit down and talk with Barbara Kimmel about these books. Here's what she had to say...

WE: Please tell us about your books, Immigration Made Simple and Citizenship Made Simple...

BK: We have been writing and publishing these books for almost 20 years and have done 8 editions and 5 editions respectively. Our readers are primarily foreign professionals, students and their advisors, international HR departments and others who work with foreign nationals coming to the US, either temporarily or as permanent residents. Our citizenship book is designed for those with a good command of the English language and the latest edition contains the most updated US Government test.

WE: What led you to write these books?

BK: From our experience working with foreign nationals, we know that they all share one common characteristic. They lack knowledge of the US Immigration and Citizenship process. We wanted to provide this population with reference material presented in simple language and laying out the basics of US immigration and citizenship regulations.

WE: What are your backgrounds?

BK: Barbara Kimmel worked as a relocation consultant for 15 years, advising many leading international corporations and assisting thousands of foreign professionals through the immigration and citizenship process. She holds a BA in International Affairs from Lafayette College and an MBA in Marketing from City University's Baruch College. Alan Lubiner is an attorney who has been practicing immigration law since 1975. Initially he was employed as an attorney with the Immigration & Naturalization Service and since 1981 he has been employed in private practice in Cranford, NJ. He holds degrees in Finance from NYU and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. He is also a past Chairman of the NJ Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

WE: Immigration and Citizenship are such tricky matters - and so very important. What can readers find in your guides?

BK: Our immigration book covers everything from specific steps for applying for all nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories; specialized categories like the Child Status Protection Act; employer obligations under IRCA; sample forms; and a Q&A. Our citizenship books contains the "new" test; complete instructions; sample forms and special categories like dual citizenship and citizenship based on military service.

WE: Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?
