If you’ve ever traveled in Pakistan, you’ve probably already seen or heard countless tales of the wondrous north and its scenic beauty. You’ve probably also heard specifically of Skardu, a city that has been marveled over by tourists and locals alike. Skardu isn’t only beautiful, it’s filled with history—and is a site to behold. 

Katharine Ross is working towards her Associate degree in Business and plans to transfer to a four-year university to complete her Bachelor's degree. Katharine is currently working for her parents’ candy company. She is also participating in NASA's Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS). Katharine is the first CCAC student to be a part of this NASA program—and it has been one of the most rewarding things she’s ever done.

February: whether you are in the northern hemisphere with winter or the southern one with summer, it is a month of transition. In weather, in plans, in quality of light, and in the stories we tell, there are contrasts and changes, back and forth, from one day to the next.

Here are several ways musicians look at these things. At whatever point in the year you are reading this, there is much to explore and consider.

Music for a Month of Transitions

Managing a business isn't an easy task, especially for those who need to travel as part of the business. As a hands-on manager, you must create a balance between your operations and your staff to ensure a smooth relationship that will lead to better service. You also need to know that you don't have to micromanage everything because it's, more often than not, noncontributory to success. You need to know when to step on the brakes and let your staff provide you with the results. 

Alexandria Kovack is currently working on her Business Management degree from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), and has a goal to open a nonprofit organization that helps to rehabilitate Veterans in the future.

A true Renaissance man, Michael Ricigliano successfully balances two careers at once. In recent years, he developed a career as an artist, writer, and film producer, while also still practicing law in Long Island, New York. He has exhibited his abstract work at the Union League Club Gallery and the Lilac Gallery in Manhattan, as well as The Huntington Art Gallery on Long Island.
