Walking through the rainforest for the first time can feel very much like walking through a busy city in a country where you don’t know the language and don’t have a map. The cacophony of sounds has no meaning and the signs make no sense.
Josh Trach is a junior marketing major at the University of Pittsburgh. In the fall 2014, he studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Other than having the absolute best time of his life, he learned an incredible amount about the world and even more about himself.
Leigh Shulman moves around a lot. She has lived on five continents and worked as everything from website designer for MTV to a university writing professor in NYC to teaching photography to indigenous Wichi children in NW Argentina.

Many of my educational travel experiences have been abroad. Transitioning to a new city opens eyes, and fills each day and new experience with childlike wonder.
