Unique Irish Wake Museum opens in Waterford

Explore life and death, tradition and superstition at Ireland’s first wake museum in the heart of historic Waterford.

The oldest urban domestic building in Ireland is now home to the island’s newest museum which traces the customs, traditions, and superstitions associated with death from the earliest times to the twentieth century.

A Journey into Ireland's Literary Revival

I am very pleased to present one of my very favorite books I've read this year, written by our very own Literary Travel Editor, Robert Todd Felton.  His book, A Journey into Ireland's Literary Revival, published by Roaring Forties Press, is an intriguing read.

Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way: Voices of Donegal and Derry

The Wild Atlantic Way: it’s a connection of roads which invites travel along the west of Ireland, from the western part of County Cork far in the south to Ireland’s far northwest in Donegal and Derry.

Donegal and Derry: two counties, two countries. Donegal lies in the Republic of Ireland: Derry lies in Northern Ireland.

His unique artistry showcases the best of many different patterns and designs - truly, there is something for everyone.  I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with Liam about his art, and the process of creating it. Music Runs Deep in Ireland and Scotland

Music runs deep in Ireland and Scotland, in the landscape, the history, the legends, the stories, and the lives of the people. Though each is a small country, geographically, they both have sent, and continue to send, mighty amounts of music out into the world. Here are three recordings which offer very different gateways into Ireland and Scotland.
