Seeing the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) is an extraordinary thing – the sky crackles, with undulating swathes of color dancing across the sky. Where best to see it? Iceland, of course! With its wide open areas, lack of trees, low city lights, and plenty of room to view the sky, this is one of the best places on the planet to view the Northern Lights. If you’re a photographer (like me!), there are specific tips you’ll need to know, to ensure the best photos possible. 

Most people, outside the west coast, seem to think beaches are only for summer. If it’s not sunny and 80 what’s the point of the beach? No one wants to go to the beach in anticipation of freezing their butt off.

International experiences are very valuable to have, because they give people a chance to learn about the world, and a good way to get those experiences is to work a job that has them. There are countless jobs in the world that provide international experience. Two of those jobs with international experiences that I would consider are travel writing for a magazine, and teaching English as a second language.

London is a dynamic capital that sways with the times and can change its scenes quicker than the National Theatre. With the old being pushed out to make room for the new, pockets of hip culture are popping up throughout the city. While seeing staple attractions such as the Somerset House and British Museum are musts, you can’t pass up the opportunity to book a vacation apartment and witness the cultural growth of one of London’s upstart neighbourhoods. 

Palawan is comprised of several islands, and one of these with a big name is Coron. This small and peaceful island in the Philippines is famous for its pristine beaches and Japanese shipwrecks. The place features natural beauty in its calm waters and breathtaking panoramas, and has a fascinating history, as well.

Many mothers make the choice to take a few years out of their working lives while their baby is young. There are many reasons to do this if you can afford to, such as not having to arrange or pay for childcare, being able to spend precious time with your child at this unique age, and discovering new passions.

This weekend, we spent time pulling in the dock and the boats up at our cottage. But, in between the pouring rain (which sounded lovely, on the roof of the cottage, while we were warmed by the fire) and the fall chores, we took a short drive up to Sleeping Bear Dunes, named the most beautiful place in America.
