Eating healthy can be a challenge, whether you are trying to get healthier, add more fruits and vegetables to your meals, or if you are simply trying to eat a more balanced diet - especially on the road. You may find one of the greatest roadblocks to improved nutrition is giving into snack cravings - and if so, you are not alone. A 2014 report by Nielsen found that global sales of snack foods have reached nearly $400 billion.
With the holidays behind us my attention is fully directed towards finding a March cruise. Topping the list of possibilities is Brazil, or maybe Chile.
In my prior two columns I’ve shared the advantages and the drawbacks of a cruise adventure. This month I will focus on a dozen tips to consider before embarking. Hopefully they’ll allow you to avoid hassle and optimize your cruise vacation.
Cruises are a great deal – you’ve got all your transportation, lodging, meals, and activities rolled into one price. You can travel the world, see new sights every day, and not have to unpack more than once. There are incredible sunrises and sunsets (my favorite part). You can find time for romance or kids clubs, swim, take excursions, learn new things, and eat well.
Although the weather is quite consistent and best described as "sub-tropical" throughout the year in Bermuda, there are a few times when it helps to have some helpful inside information.
You’re excited to finally be heading off to university! But first, you’ve got to narrow down your roomful of belongings into a much smaller space that you’ll probably be sharing with someone. How do you decide what to take? What will you need? What can you buy while you’re there? Here is a packing list for heading off to university. I recommend that you customize it according to your interests (sports, music, etc.), and always remember – less is more. It's all got to fit in the car (or airplane) to get there!
We've all been there - packing and looking at the huge pile of STUFF on the bed, and looking at the very small suitcase. How to reconcile the two? It's stressful!
Travelling is one of the most important things you can do, in terms of global understanding, personal growth, and to improve your career. You can explore new places, make friends, or practice new occupations. You’ll learn from the plethora of people you will meet, and learn about different cultures, worldviews, and languages. You’ll have an adventure! You’ll be surprised by what you see and learn, and start to incorporate your new experiences into your own life (Vietnamese coffee, I’m looking at you!).
Sun & Stilettos Trips offers custom-crafted, cultural tours to the Caribbean. Yes, the Caribbean! A part of the world offering so much more than beaches and rum. From cacao farms to drum makers, architectural wonders, indigenous groups, and a spectacular reef-to-peaks scenery, this regional melting pot remains under-explored.
