Gather and Graze Recipe: Frangipane Blueberry Mini Galettes

We are so happy to share with you a recipe from an extraordinary new cookbook, Gather & Graze (click here to read our review and author interview!). It's peak blueberry season here in Michigan, and we've already picked almost 100 pounds over near South Haven (and almost a month left in the season to go!). I thought to save some from our picking Monday (in the rain, but oh so worth it) to make these. They are SO delicious.

Why Rice Makes For Great Meals

Eating is something that is required in order for one to stay fit and healthy. However, it can also be an enjoyable experience. The tastes, the smells, and sometimes the entire process are exciting and entertaining. Knowing that you are keeping your friends and family healthier with safe and thoroughly cooked food doesn’t hurt, either. That being said, when it comes to food today, you’ll have more options available than imaginable. Despite this, rice still remains an immense favorite amongst many, world-wide. Want to know exactly why this is the case?

Autumn Pumpkin Soup

This delicious soup hails from Scotland, where we had it one evening after a  long drive to Shannon Airport and short flight from Ireland, and before a drive in the dark from Edinburgh to Inverness. Our friends created such a loving, homecooked meal that the hardships of travel were erased.

Now, we are comforted by this easy-to-make soup every single time we enjoy it - and think of Scotland, and friends, and the love you put into cooking.

Cooking with Kids: The Around the World Cookbook

We have a 6-year old daughter, and she just loves to cook. I am always on the lookout for excellent kids cookbooks - ones that teach, besides having quality recipes. Too often, kids cookbooks contain recipes for food that just isn't healthy - promoting blue frosting, or coloring your macaroni and cheese red. YIKES!
