When I travel, I love to visit museums, architectural edifices (Gaudi), and archeological sites such as Petra. But popular restaurants at a destination are not high on my list of must-try travel experiences.
It's that time of year again here in West Virginia, the time when the flora starts to sprout new life and the forest floors explode with color. Spring Time!
Homemade wooden kites, hot cross buns, fish cakes, and pink sandy beaches; these are the images called to mind when envisioning Good Friday celebrations on the island of Bermuda. A conservative island by nature, Good Friday traditions live on here. School children spend weeks constructing their kites; the more traditional, the better.
One of the truisms in education, all around the world, is that educators will have students of differing abilities in their classroom. And it is often the most efficient use of a teacher’s time to teach to the lowest common denominator in order to reach everyone. I was an oft-neglected high-ability learner, bored with school, yet eager to learn as much as I could. Self-directed learning wasn’t really discussed, critical thinking skills came along in college (oh, what I could have done with learning that years earlier!), and I often wished I could learn more, more, more each day.
I can’t get on the kick of E-Readers, not even for the purpose and convenience of travel. Yet, I’ve formatted Kindle books for publishing that are now on sale.
